Petzl Night Trails - Salcey Forest
The Petzl Night Trails 10K at Salcey Forest is a unique night trail running event held near Northampton in the Forestry Commission's Salcey Forest. Participants run a fully marked, two-lap 10-kilometer course primarily on crushed stone paths, which can become slippery depending on weather conditions. The forest is mostly flat, but any incline feels challenging over the distance.
Runners must use a head or chest torch to navigate the dark trails, with Petzl providing high-quality head torches for testing. The event welcomes canicross runners, who start 10 minutes ahead of the main field. Amenities include water stations with biodegradable cups and hot drinks.
The event supports Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity and offers eco-friendly tree tokens instead of medals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
