Petzl Night Runner Delamere Forest
The Petzl Night Runner at Delamere Forest serves as the first round of the Petzl Night Trail Running Race Series. Based at the Delamere Forest Visitor Centre in Cheshire, the event takes place after dark on a course marked with reflective signage. The event features a "Spooky Halloween" theme, and participants are encouraged to wear fancy dress.
Available distances include:
- 10 km (one lap of the course)
- Half Marathon (two laps of the course)
- 1 km (free event for young children)
The terrain consists of varied forest trails that can be muddy. Runners are required to use a head torch or a handheld torch to navigate the route. Due to the conditions and time of year, trail or fell shoes with aggressive tread are recommended, alongside warm clothing and a windproof or waterproof jacket.
Participation in the 10 km and Half Marathon races is open to individuals aged 16 and over. The entry fee includes electronic timing, a custom glow-in-the-dark finisher’s medal, and high-resolution event photographs available for download. Dogs are not permitted to accompany runners on the course but are welcome with spectators at the start and finish area.
The event venue at the main visitors centre provides the central hub for the start and finish of all distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
