Peterson Ridge Rumble : event overview
The Peterson Ridge Rumble is a trail race near Sisters, Oregon, held on April 12, 2026, with all races starting and finishing at Sisters Middle School (15200 McKenzie Highway). The event offers three distances:
- 40 miles
- Marathon
- 20 miles
The total field is limited to 500 entrants across all distances. Registration for the 2026 event opens October 31, 2025 and is handled through UltraSignup. The race is a fundraiser for the Sisters High School Cross Country team and makes an annual donation to Sisters Trails Alliance.
Course, aid stations and logistics
All courses use the Peterson Ridge and Metolius-Windigo multi-use trail networks and include some dirt road sections. The 40-mile course is mostly trail with mixed road sections and about 2,700 ft total elevation gain. The marathon shares the 40-mile route through mile 24, then finishes with the 20-mile for the final miles; its total elevation change is about 1,600 ft. The 20-mile route has about 1,200 ft of elevation gain and ridge views of the Central Oregon Cascades.
Aid stations occur approximately every 3–7 miles. The 40-mile has five full and two limited aid stations; the marathon has three full and two limited stations; the 20-mile has four full stations. Drop bags and crew access rules vary by aid station and distance. Packet pickup is available the day before at a local bike shop and at the school on race day. Post-race food, awards, finisher socks for all finishers, and shower facilities at the field house are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
