Peterson Ridge Rumble - Run Like Ardy
The Peterson Ridge Rumble is a trail running event held in Sisters, Oregon. The course utilizes the Peterson Ridge and Metolius-Windigo multi-use trails within the Deschutes National Forest. The event is a fundraiser for the Sisters High School Cross Country team and supports the Sisters Trails Alliance. Participation is limited to a total of 500 entrants across all distances.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 40 miles
- Trail Marathon (approx. 26.3 miles)
- 20 miles
The 40-mile course features approximately 2,700 feet of total vertical gain. It consists of trail and dirt road sections, including two significant uphill sections in the second half of the race. The trail marathon includes approximately 1,600 feet of elevation gain and follows the 40-mile route until mile 24.- The 20-mile course offers views of the Central Oregon Cascades peaks with a total vertical gain of about 1,200 feet. All distances start and finish at Sisters Middle School.
Aid stations are positioned every 3 to 7 miles, providing water, hydration drinks, and various snacks. Specific cut-off times are enforced at various aid stations and for the final race finish to ensure the safety of participants and volunteers. A post-race gathering at the track infield includes a meal with burritos, bakery items, and ice cream. All finishers receive a pair of event-specific running socks.
