Peterson Ridge Rumble
The Peterson Ridge Rumble is a trail running event near Sisters, Oregon held on April 11, 2027. All races start and finish at Sisters Middle School and use Peterson Ridge and Metolius-Windigo multi-use trails. The event limits total entrants to 350 across all distances and operates under a special use permit with the Deschutes National Forest.
Distances offered
- 40 miles mostly trail with some dirt road; total vertical gain about 2,700 ft.
- Trail Marathon mostly trail with some dirt road; total vertical gain about 1,600 ft.
- 20 miles ridge views of the Central Oregon Cascades; total vertical gain about 1,200 ft.
Aid stations are placed roughly every 3 to 7 miles. The 40 mile course has five full aid stations and two limited stations; the marathon and 20 mile have fewer stations as noted by the organizer. Full aid stations supply water, hydration mixes, limited gels, fruit, sandwiches, snacks, and occasional hot items. Crew access is restricted: no crewing for the 20 mile, and limited crew access for specified marathon and 40 mile stations. Drop bags are permitted at designated aid stations for the 40 mile.
The event supports the Sisters High School Cross Country team and donates annually to Sisters Trails Alliance. Post race food is provided by local vendors and all finishers receive commemorative finisher socks. Shower facilities are available in the Middle School gymnasium.
