Snakes N Ladders - Perth Trail Series
Snakes N Ladders is a trail running event in Serpentine National Park held on 21 June 2026 as part of the Perth Trail Series winter program. The event uses colour-coded courses with wayfinding and course markings, and an event brief is distributed by email the Wednesday prior.
Distances and approximate elevation changes:
- Green 5.8 km (+/- 100 m)
- Blue 11.8 km (+/- 165 m)
- Black 21.3 km (+/- 553 m)
Course categories describe typical effort and experience: Green is shorter and suited to walkers and casual trail participants, Blue is a mid-distance course where running is common, and Black is the longest course for experienced trail runners. Participants may request a shorter distance on the day.
Logistics noted by the organiser include bib pickup on race day at the start/finish and registration that remains open until the Tuesday prior unless the event sells out earlier. A start/finish village is described with food truck and BBQ options and onsite drumming activity. The event has minimum age and prior-experience requirements for children: Green minimum age 6 (children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian), Blue minimum age 12 with three completed Green events and parental accompaniment for the first Blue, and Black minimum age 16 with three completed Blue events and parental accompaniment for the first Black.
