People's Triathlon Series - Maraetai Beach
The event takes place at Maraetai Beach in Maraetai, Auckland on 8 November 2026 and features swim, bike and run options across multiple race formats. The venue includes a sea swim off the beach, a coastal and country-road bike route, and a run that mixes trail and path.
Distances and race formats offered include:
- Olympic Triathlon: swim 1.5 km, bike 40 km, run 10 km
- Sprint Triathlon: swim 500 m, bike 20 km, run 5 km
- Try a Triathlon: swim 100 m, bike 10 km, run 2 km
- Olympic Duathlon: bike 40 km, run 10 km
- Sprint Duathlon: bike 20 km, run 5 km
- Olympic Aquabike: swim 1.5 km, bike 40 km
- Sprint Aquabike: swim 500 m, bike 20 km
Entry includes a personalised race bib, a silicone swim cap, race timing, aid stations, on-site medical support, post-race massage and a Barfoot & Thompson barbecue. A $5 administration fee is charged by the registration provider.
Event operations include registration and pack pick up the day before, an open transition area on race morning, compulsory helmet sticker for the bike leg and a race bib worn on the run. Live results run during race day and prizegiving and spot prizes are scheduled after the races.
