Penicuik 10k 2026
The Penicuik 10k takes place on 9 May 2026 and is organised by Penicuik Harriers. The event uses an undulating 10 km road route that starts and finishes in the town of Penicuik, running out to Howgate and the Peebles Road. On the return the course offers views of the Pentland Hills and includes the Mile Brae downhill.
The race is based at Bog Road Playing Fields, Penicuik EH26 9BZ. Runners remain in the field for warm up and are taken to the road when police permission is given. Roads are closed to traffic until the top of Pomathorn Road; after that runners should use pavements where available and follow marshal instructions.
The event is held under UK Athletics rules and a Scottish Athletics licence. Runners must be 17 or older on race day. A 1.5 hour time limit applies because Police Scotland assistance is required.
Entries open 12 February 2026 and close 7 May 2026. Fees listed include £13 for Scottish Athletics members and £15 for standard entries. Entry on the day may be available if the race does not sell out, with EOD fees noted as £15 and £17; EOD payments are handled in cash and medals for EOD entrants may be posted within a week if not available on the day. Entries to date total 44 participants.
