Pendle Pool Triathlon - West Craven Sports Centre
Pendle Pool Triathlon is an annual multi-sport event held at West Craven Sports Centre in Barnoldswick BB18 5TB. The event offers pool-based swim starts and finishes, transition areas, free parking near the venue and a semi-rural setting.
New features introduced for 2025 include chip timing and finish line photos. Participants receive a custom Pendle Tri Club medal, plus water and sweets. The event is fully signposted, organisers state there are no added fees at checkout, and payment can be made in full or spread over time.
A range of formats and distances is available:
- Sprint Triathlon: swim 400m, bike 2 x 11km laps, run 2 x 2.5km laps
- Super Sprint Triathlon: swim 200m, bike 11km, run 2.5km
- Duathlon Sprint: run 5km, bike 22km, run 2.5km
- Duathlon Super Sprint: run 2.5km, bike 11km, run 2.5km
- Aquabike and Aquathlon options at Sprint and Super Sprint distances
Event procedures note that the swim starts and finishes on poolside and competitors are responsible for counting laps. Mount and dismount lines are marked for the bike. Riders must wear a helmet. Runners are asked to keep left to allow safe overtaking. Spectators are allowed but access to parts of the leisure centre grounds is restricted to specified entry areas.
