18th Pearls of Hope 5k
The Pearls of Hope 5k is scheduled for October 3, 2026 at Rockford Park in Wilmington, Delaware. The event is organised by the Pearls of Hope Foundation, Inc. and benefits New Castle County community projects, with examples listed such as the Salvation Army, Urban Promise, YMCA, ADA, AHA, and the Alzheimer Association.
Event options include a 5K run or walk, a competitive walking 5K that requires walking for the full distance, and a children 12 and under category without a t shirt. Pre-registration for the 5K run/walk is listed at $30, with higher fees applying after the pre-registration period; a children 12 and under entry fee is shown separately.
Amenities include tee shirts for the first 150 registered participants, post race refreshments in the park, and an auction. Timing is provided by R2R Timing using the MYLAPS BibTag chip timing system. Top finisher awards for overall male and female and overall masters are scored by gun time; all other age group awards are scored by chip net time. Additional awards cover age group placings, top walkers, and the team with the largest number of registered participants.
