Peace Ranch Wilderness 5K and 10K Run
The Peace Ranch Wilderness runs are held at Peace Ranch near Traverse City, Michigan, and include a shorter and a longer distance over natural surfaces. The event takes place in and around the Pere Marquette Forest and uses roads and trails on packed sand and varied terrain. The course for the 5K follows hard packed sand roads through forested areas. The 10K follows trails with varied topography and quieter surroundings.
The event is supported by the Traverse City Track Club and offers a family friendly space for participants and spectators to gather before and after the runs. A medal ceremony follows the races and tours of the ranch are available after the event.
The event is dog friendly with these guidelines: dogs may remain in vehicles until just before the race and must be on leash while present. All registered participants receive a t shirt, timed results, a swag bag, refreshments, and the Peace Race Lucky Horseshoe Medal. Plaques are awarded to the top three male and female finishers and names are added to the Annual Race Plaque at Peace Ranch. Proceeds benefit New Veterans Retreat Services and the Mustang Rehab Program. Registration fee is $40.
