Purpose and course features
The race was developed to honor police officers from Stanislaus County who were killed in the line of duty. The start line, finish line and each mile of the half marathon are dedicated to one of the 20 fallen officers. At each dedicated mile marker, the officer's photo, the agency they worked for, and their "End of watch" date are displayed.
