Peace Officer Memorial Run
The Peace Officer Memorial Run is a multi-event athletic gathering held in Modesto, California. The event is established to honor law enforcement officers from Stanislaus County who have died in the line of duty.
The course layout incorporates direct memorials for twenty fallen officers. The start line, the finish line, and each mile marker of the half marathon are dedicated to a specific individual. These markers display a photograph of the officer, the agency they served, and their end of watch date.
Participants can choose from a variety of distances and formats:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Half Marathon Relay (13.1 miles)
- Full Gear Challenge Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- Full Gear Challenge 5K (3.1 miles)
- Kids Fun Run (1 kilometer)
- Virtual Half Marathon
- Virtual 5K
The "Full Gear Challenge" options are available for both the 5K and the half marathon distances. For those unable to attend in person at 1101 I Street, virtual participation options are provided for the primary race lengths. A 1K fun run is also available for younger participants.
