Modesto Spirit of Giving 5K Run/Walk - December 12, 2026
The Modesto Spirit of Giving is a family-friendly community event held in Modesto, California. The event is a 5K run and walk that takes place on December 12, 2026 and raises funds for local support programs.
Proceeds benefit the City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department’s Leisure Bucks program. Leisure Bucks provides financial assistance so low-income children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities can access recreational activities city-wide. Since 2007 the program has been privately supported and relies on contributions and fundraising events such as this race.
The event also supports Modesto Gospel Mission. Since 1948 the mission has provided meals, shelter, hot showers, clothing, and programs that address the physical, spiritual, emotional, social, educational, vocational, and financial causes of homelessness. The mission receives no government funding and is not a United Way agency.
The race involves local sponsors and community organizations and is presented as a community fundraiser. Information about the route, registration, and volunteer opportunities is maintained by the event organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
