PDX 50 50

PDX 50 50 is a running event in Portland, OR offering two long distances that share the first portion of the course. The event is organized by Run Pacifica and uses urban and park routes on both sides of the Willamette River.

Distances:

  • 50K : course has measured around 31.5 to 32 miles in past years
  • 50M : listed as approximately 53 miles

The start and finish are at Brooklyn Park in SE Portland on the uphill / 10th Ave side. The route goes north on the Eastbank Esplanade, crosses the Steel Bridge, travels through North Portland and along Willamette Blvd, then crosses the St Johns Bridge into Forest Park. A roughly one mile stretch on Ridge Trail in Forest Park is steeper, narrow, somewhat technical, and can be slick when wet. The largely flat and smooth remainder includes Leif Eriksen dirt and gravel road, NW Portland streets, and waterfront sections.

At about mile 29 at the Sellwood Bridge there is a choice of finish. The 50K returns across Sellwood toward Brooklyn Park. The longer course continues through River View Cemetery, Tryon Creek Park, Terwilliger Trail, Lake Oswego, Mary S Young Park, Oregon City, and the Trolley Trail before returning to Sellwood and Brooklyn Park.

This is an unsupported run with no aid stations and no course markings. GPX files are provided for navigation and the Forest Park stretch spans the longest gap without places to refill. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
