Paws & Soles Saving Lives with Strides 5K & 10K
The event is a fundraiser for Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter to support the Cupid Fund, which pays for extraordinary medical treatment for shelter animals beyond basic care. It is held at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater, NJ, and includes both running and walking options.

Entry categories include a standard 5K human entry, a 5K human plus one dog entry, a kids 5K entry for ages 10 and under, and a 10K run. Published registration fees are $40 for the 5K human entry, $45 for the 5K human plus one dog entry, $15 for kids 10 and under, and $50 for the 10K. Registration opens April 6, 2026 and closes October 18, 2026. Day-of registration fees are listed separately.
The venue uses a flat, USATF-NJ certified course at Duke Island Park; the 5K course has a certification record and the 10K certification link is noted as forthcoming. Chip timing is used via ChronoTrack RFID and awards are based on chip time. Awards include overall top three male and female finishers for each distance and age-group awards for top finishers.
The day features vendors and food. Dogs are allowed with requirements such as 6 foot or shorter leads only, current vaccinations, no females in heat, and responsible waste removal; registered dogs receive a goody bag while supplies last.
