Paws in the Park 5K Run/Walk
Paws in the Park is a community 5K run and walk scheduled for October 10, 2026 at the Iowa Arboretum & Gardens, 1875 Peach Ave, Madrid, Iowa. The course starts and finishes at the Arboretum. T-shirt and packet pickup takes place at the Cafferty Building on site. Participants may begin the course on their own and keep their own time.
Pre-registered participants receive a t-shirt. Registrations submitted after October 4, 2026 are not guaranteed a shirt. Registration pricing is tiered: a lower fee applies for the period through October 4 and a higher fee applies for October 5–9. A non-attendance support option labeled "Lazy Dog" is offered with the same pricing and shirt conditions.
This event welcomes canine companions with specific rules. Dogs receive bandanas. A maximum of two dogs per person is allowed and all dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Organizers reserve the right to refuse entry to aggressive dogs. Owners must keep dogs under control at all times and use leashes no longer than six feet.
