About the race
Paws for a Cause 5K is a community 5K run/walk scheduled for October 18, 2026, in the Champaign-Urbana area at 2001 S Lincoln Ave, Urbana, Illinois. The event is organized through a collaboration of Hill’s, Purina, OTS, Nutrition Club, Run Club, and the University of Illinois veterinary community. The stated purpose is to bring students, faculty, staff, and members of the Champaign-Urbana community together for running, walking, and charitable support. Fifty percent of event proceeds will be donated to a selected charity or good cause, and the remaining funds will support the clubs involved in organizing the race. The program includes a 5K run/walk, age-group awards and medals, prizes for top finishers, and post-race snacks and refreshments.
