Paws Along the Erie 5K and Festival
Paws Along the Erie 5K and Festival is organized by Wanderers Rest Human Association Inc, a 501c3 nonprofit animal shelter, to benefit the animals in its care. The event takes place at 717 Lakeport Road in Chittenango, New York.
The course is a scenic out and back on a flat stone dust trail and covers 5K (3.1 miles). The event includes run and walk options, with specific categories allowing participants to join solo or with dogs. Registration includes an exclusive WRHA Paws Along the Erie T-shirt plus standard fuel and hydration at the course.
A finish line festival will feature animals and vendor booths and offers access to the Canal Boat Museum. Participants who bring dogs must keep them leashed and ensure they are friendly and up to date on rabies vaccination. Dogs entered in the events are required to show proof of updated rabies vaccination at check in.
