Pawleys Island Turtle Strut 8K Run/Walk
The Pawleys Island Turtle Strut is a running and walking event featuring an 8K race and a 5K event. It will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
Course Details
All participants start at the Pawleys Island Nature Park and head south on Myrtle Avenue along Pawleys Island Creek. The course is described as extremely flat. 8K runners continue down Springs Avenue, where they can enjoy an ocean view. They turn around at the far south end beach access and return to the Nature Park for the finish line. A water stop is located at the turnaround point on the 8K course.
Event Information
The race is held in memory of Chief Guy Osborne, the former Pawleys Island Police Chief. Packet pickup is available on Friday before the race and on race morning at the Old Town Hall building on Myrtle Avenue. Participants receive a race bib and a participant medal. A race shirt is provided while supplies last.
Awards are given for the 8K event, including overall male and female winners, masters winners, and age group winners in 10-year increments. The awards ceremony for the 8K is scheduled to begin approximately at 9:20 AM.
Location
Pawleys Island is a barrier island less than four miles long. It is located 70 miles north of Charleston and 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach. Race parking is at the Pawleys Island Town Hall on Myrtle Avenue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
