About the race
Pāuanui Trail Epic is a trail running event held in Pāuanui with courses that start and finish on the beachfront outside the Pāuanui Surf Life Saving Club on Pauanui Boulevard. The event offers four distances and participants may enter as a runner or as a walker; walkers must walk the entire distance entered.
Distances:
- 34 km
- 22 km
- 14 km
- 5 km
Age restrictions apply: the minimum age for the 34 km and 22 km events is 14 years on race day; children under 14 may enter the 14 km and 5 km events. The event is professionally timed and provides live tracking, a race bib with optional name personalisation (cut-off applies), and a timing chip worn on the shoe. Hydration Stations and toilets are provided on course, with water and Tailwind Endurance mix available. Competitors receive a race pack that can be collected during pre-event registration at the Pāuanui Village Centre or at Race HQ at the Pāuanui Surf Life Saving Club; race packs may be collected by a representative on a competitor’s behalf.
Teams may enter the Teams Challenge with a minimum of four members; team scoring uses the aggregate finishing positions of the first four finishers and the lowest score wins. All finishers receive a finishers medal and towel and can download a completion certificate. Spot prizes are awarded during event prizegiving.
