Event overview
The Patriots Triathlon takes place Saturday and Sunday, September 12-13, 2026, in Williamsburg, VA (2205 Jamestown Rd, 23185). The event is USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned and is open to athletes aged 12 and older. Relay entries are available as one team price for 2 or 3 people.
Distances offered:
- Olympic: 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Olympic Aquabike: 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike
- Olympic Relay: team entry for 2 or 3 people
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
- Sprint Aquabike: 750 m swim, 20 km bike
- Sprint Relay: team entry for 2 or 3 people
Course and race features
The swim takes place at Jamestown beach; wildlife such as osprey and dolphins have been observed along the course. The bike course is described as flat and parallels the Cap-Cap bike trail along Route 5. The run uses a mix of bike paths and jogging trails through farmland and forest.
Swim starts use a time trial format with two athletes started every few seconds. An Elite Box Start is also used to allow top contenders to start first. Registration includes a finisher medal, event long-sleeved tech shirt, custom race socks, packet pickup reusable bag, timed results, age group awards, a post-race meal, finisher certificate, and free finish-line photos.
