About the race
The Patapsco Valley 50K is an organized trail running event in Baltimore, MD, held at Patapsco Valley State Park with headquarters at CCBC Catonsville, 800 S. Rolling Rd., Catonsville, MD 21228. The event includes in-person and virtual options and returns for the 13th running of the 50k and the 5th running of the 25k. Included for all registered runners are a Brooks event shirt, an additional PV50K/25K logo premium item, post-race food and drink, and a finishers award; 50k finishers receive a hand-thrown mug and 25k finishers receive a finishers medal.
The course is described as a scenic, historic, well-marked trail run with five well-stocked aid stations and volunteer support. Runners will run the course clockwise in 2026. Virtual runners may complete their 50k or 25k between October 24 and November 24, 2026 on a self-chosen course, submit results via UltraSignup, and receive the same apparel and awards by mail at no additional cost. Patapsco Valley State Park may revoke the event permit for extreme weather; the weather backup date is October 25, 2026.
Runners unable to attend the backup date or if the event is canceled will be placed in the virtual category. Registration closes October 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. Refund requests made before September 24, 2026 receive the registration fee minus $30; requests on or after September 24, 2026 are not eligible for refund.
