Passavant Hospital Foundation Run/Walk
The Passavant Hospital Foundation hosts a multi-day event featuring several distances across two different locations. The proceedings support health and wellness initiatives through education, outreach, and grants for the UPMC Passavant campuses in McCandless and Cranberry. All competitive events are timed by professional timing services.
Event Locations and Distances
The event is split between two dates and venues:
- 4K Run/Walk: Held at the North Park Pool Loop near Pie Traynor Field. Pets are permitted at this session.
- 8K Run/Walk: Held at the North Park Pool Loop near Pie Traynor Field. This course is also pet-friendly.
- 5K Family Wellness Run/Walk: Located at the UPMC Passavant Sportsplex at Graham Park in Cranberry Township.
- Kid's Fun Run: A non-competitive event at the UPMC Passavant Sportsplex for children aged 15 months to 10 years.
Participants have the option to register as a Legacy Runner, which involves participating in either the 4K or 8K on the first day and the 5K on the second day.
Participation Requirements
For the Kid's Fun Run, children must be able to walk unassisted. An adult is required to walk near children aged 4 and younger, and all participating children and parents are provided with matching identifiers. For the Friday events at North Park, participants are advised to arrive early due to road closures by local police.
Awards and Categories
Awards are presented for the 4K, 5K, and 8K distances. Recognition is given to the first, second, and third-place overall male and female winners. Additionally, awards are provided for the top three finishers in various age categories for both genders. Group awards are also included in the event program.
