Mudskipper Ontario SwimRun Championships and Parry Sound Open Water Swim
This multisport event held in Parry Sound, Ontario, features a combination of open water swimming, SwimRun challenges, and trail running. The races take place in and around the waters of Georgian Bay, with the main hub located at Waubano Beach.
The SwimRun portion of the event offers two distances. The 12.9 km course consists of six alternating swim and run stages. The 25.8 km distance serves as the Mudskipper Ontario SwimRun Championships, where participants complete two laps of the course. SwimRun athletes may use equipment such as hand paddles and pull buoys, and wetsuits are optional.
Open water swimming events utilize a 2 km loop course that runs from Wabano Park to the Parry Sound Salt Docks. Available distances include:
- 2 km (one lap)
- 4 km (two laps)
- 10 km Ultra Swim (five laps)
New for 2026, the event includes trail running races on marked paths, including the North Shore Hiking Trail. Runners can choose between a 5 km or a 10 km distance. Facilities such as washrooms and food are available on-site. Participants in water events receive a mandatory swim cap for identification.
