Challenge the Shield Adventure Race
Challenge the Shield is a multisport adventure race held at Nine Mile Lake Beach near the Georgian Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre, about 10 km NE of Parry Sound, ON. The event date is September 13, 2026 and entries are listed as sold out for 2026. Teams consist of two people and categories include coed, male, female, masters, and juniors.
The race uses a points based choose your own route format with a six hour time limit and up to 2,500 points available. The event begins with a mandatory three part prologue. After the prologue, teams paddle, trek, and mountain bike to as many of the 28 checkpoint challenges as they choose. A penalty of 100 points is applied for every minute or part of a minute over the six hour limit.

Registration is limited to 82 teams and entry fees are tiered by registration period. Entry fees cover professional customized race maps for each team member, host site day use fees, event swag, a participation sticker, race insurance, and one post race pizza per team.
