Parkinson's Steady Strides 5K
The Parkinson's Steady Strides 5K is a community event held at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. This event supports local resources for individuals living with Parkinson's disease, including educational programs and financial grants for exercise and therapy organizations. The race serves as a central gathering for the local community to raise funds and awareness.
Participating athletes can choose from the following event options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Virtual 5K (3.1 Miles)
The 5K Run/Walk is a timed race that takes place on-site. Participants in the Virtual 5K may complete their distance at any location before late September. Virtual participants receive a bib and a race shirt at packet pickup, and finisher medals are mailed upon submission of results.
The event features a concourse area at Wetterer's Way, adjacent to the start and finish line. This area hosts musical entertainment, a basket raffle, and food from local brands. Accessible parking is available at the venue for all attendees. Following the race, a post-race party is held to encourage fellowship among participants.
The timed event includes multiple age group categories ranging from 14 and under to 80 and older. Awards are presented to the first and second overall finishers, as well as the first-place finisher in each designated age group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
