This community event in Fredericksburg supports the Parkinson's community with a 5K and a 1 Mile walk/run. The 5K is a timed trail and road mix, while the accessible 1 Mile is untimed. All proceeds benefit local Parkinson's wellness programs.

Event Details

The Parkinson's Awareness Run/Walk Sponsored by Fusion and Rock Steady Boxing is an event where the Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, and surrounding communities can support the Parkinson's community by running or walking.

Two course options are available:

A 5K event that is a mix of trail and pavement. It is a timed event for participants aged 12 and up.
A 1 Mile event that is all paved and wheelchair accessible. This distance is not officially timed.

All proceeds from the event go to the YMCA Parkinson's/Therapeutic Wellness Department and the local Parkinson's Association.

Schedule & Logistics

The event takes place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Ron Rosner Family YMCA at 5700 Smith Station Road in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Packet pickup is available on Saturday, April 11, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and on race day from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM.

Awards

For the 5K, awards are given to the top three overall finishers and the top three in each age group for males and females. Age groups are: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
