PARAS'10 Catterick
PARAS'10 Catterick takes place on 25 September 2027 at Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire. The event recreates the PARAS'10 10-mile test drawn from The Parachute Regiment's P Company exercises.
Two event formats are offered:
- PARAS'10 Run: multi-terrain 10 mile endurance race.
- PARAS'10 TAB: 10 mile race carrying a 35lb bergen.
Both formats include a Canicross option for participants who wish to run with a dog. The PARAS'10 is based on the military 10-mile march, which is conducted over undulating terrain in squad formation; in the original test each candidate carries a bergen of 35lb plus water and a weapon, and the march is completed in 1 hour and 50 minutes.
The race has historical roots in events held in Aldershot between 1982 and 1993, was revived at the Infantry Training Centre Catterick in 2008, and was also held in Colchester in 2012. The event supports the charity SUPPORT OUR PARAS. Entry is open to anyone aged 16 or over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
