Event details
The Panther Spirit Race takes place on August 15, 2026 in Dewitt, MI, with start and finish at St. Jude's Catholic Church. The event is hosted by the DeWitt Cheer Program and serves as its primary fundraiser. Race distances offered include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids' Mile
- Kids' 100m dash
All participants receive a finisher medal. Age groups for awards are 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Playmakers gift certificates will be awarded to top finishers in each age group and to overall male and female winners. The event is organized to allow participants to attend the local parade afterward.
Entry, timing and logistics
Registration opens March 1, 2026. The 5K entry fee follows tiered pricing: $20 through August 2, $25 August 3-9, and $30 August 10-14. Kids events are $5. A family/group 5K option is available for 2-4 people at $70 until August 2. Donate $50 during registration to receive a free entry or donate $25 for a $10 discount; donation discounts apply to the 5K only and must be selected during registration. There is no race day registration; online registration remains open until the night before the race. Early packet pick-up is available the evening before, with race-day packet pick-up at St. Jude's.
