Panther Spirit Race
The Panther Spirit Race is a family-oriented running event held in Dewitt, Michigan. Serving as the primary fundraiser for the DeWitt Cheer Program, the event takes place at St. Jude's Catholic Church, which serves as both the starting and finishing point for the courses.
The event offers several distances and categories for different age groups:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids' Mile
- Kids' 100m Dash
The 5K Run/Walk is chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation, with live results available during the race. Participant age groups range from 12 and under up to 70 and over. Gift certificates are awarded to the top finishers in each age category, as well as the overall male and female winners. Awards are also presented to the winning runners of the Kids' Mile.
Participants across all events receive a finisher medal. The race schedule is coordinated to allow participants to attend the local parade following the event. For those attending as spectators, music is played at the start and finish line area. Packet pick-up is available on the Friday evening before the event or on the morning of the race at St. Jude's. No race day registration is available, as all registrations must be completed online by the night before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
