Event details
The Panther Creek Challenge takes place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Panther Creek State Park in Morristown, TN (2010 Panther Creek Park Rd; coordinates 36.2121° N, 83.4061° W). The race offers the following events:
- 13.1 Mile
- 10K
- Kids Trail Mile
- 13.1 Mile (Student 14 and under)
- 10K (Student 14 and under)
Published entry fees include $30 for the Half and 10K, $22 for student entries (ages 14 and under), and $9 for the Kids Trail Mile. Registration terms note no refunds and no bib transfers. KTC member discounts and season pass bundle options are available. A limited edition T-shirt will be provided one per runner per season.
Course, safety and rules
Both the Half and 10K are trail courses that begin at the park overlook, descend a steep single-track section, and follow a series of loops through woods and along the lake. The Half Marathon course lists about 1800 ft of elevation gain with two aid stations that are visited four times. The 10K course lists about 1200 ft of elevation gain with two aid stations.
Race rules prohibit headsets, bicycles, baby strollers, roller blades and pets on course. Runners under 12 must be accompanied by an adult to enter the adult races. An 18:00/mile minimum pace will be enforced and a sweeper will operate on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
