Panther Creek Challenge : September 5, 2026

The Panther Creek Challenge takes place at Panther Creek State Park in Morristown, TN (2010 Panther Creek Park Rd, 37814). The event offers the following distances:

  • 13.1 Mile (half marathon)
  • 13.1 Mile (Student 14 and under)
  • 10K
  • 10K (Student 14 and under)
  • Kids Trail Mile

Published entry fees include $30 for the adult 13.1 Mile and 10K, $22 for student entries in the 13.1 Mile and 10K, and $9 for the Kids Trail Mile. Registration notes state no refunds and no bib transfers.

Course, safety and series information

Both the longer and shorter courses start and finish at the Overlook pavilion in the northwest corner of the park. The routes descend a steep single-track, then follow a series of loops through woods and along the lake. Course data lists roughly 1800 feet of elevation gain for the half marathon with two aid stations that are passed four times, and about 1200 feet of elevation gain for the 10K with two aid stations.

Race rules: no headsets, bicycles, baby strollers, roller blades or pets on the course. Runners under 12 must be accompanied by an adult to run an adult race. An 18:00 per mile minimum pace will be enforced with a sweeper. One series T-shirt is issued per runner per season. Grand Prix points are awarded (full points for the long race, half points for the shorter race). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
