Glow the Distance 5k for MATS
The Glow the Distance 5k for MATS is a nighttime running and walking event held in Morristown, Tennessee. The course takes participants through the streets of Downtown Morristown, with a route that goes directly down Main Street. The event is fully chip-timed by We Run Events using B-tags attached to the race bibs.
Participants are encouraged to wear neon or glow-in-the-dark clothing and accessories. A glow table is available at the venue where attendees can purchase glow items. The event is situated at Morristown Utility Systems on West 1st North Street.
The event offers two registration options:

- Sleeping but Supporting
The route is family-friendly and open to various participants, including runners, walkers, and wheelchair athletes. Baby strollers are permitted at the back of the starting pack. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are also allowed on the course. While headphones are permitted, participants must remain alert to traffic and course directions, particularly at major intersections. Bicycles, skateboards, and rollerblades are not allowed on the course.
All proceeds from the event go to the Ministerial Association Temporary Shelter (MATS). This organization provides services to homeless individuals and families in Hamblen County and eleven surrounding counties, including job readiness training, budgeting skills, and housing assistance.
