Event
The Palmer Lake July 4th - 4M is the 43rd annual July 4th Fun Run in Palmer Lake, Colorado. The event offers both in-person and virtual race options and includes categories for adults, middle school and high school students, and elementary students and younger. Proceeds from registration support education in Palmer Lake and the run is organized as Palmer Lake Elementary’s largest fundraiser.
Course and logistics
The course distance is 4 miles. The route starts at the south side of Palmer Lake, goes around the lake once, then continues along the Santa Fe Trail to a finish at 3rd Street in downtown Monument. The course is described as a slight downhill and offers views of the Front Range.
Packet pickup is available at Routes Outfitter (252 Front Street, Downtown Monument) and The Colorado Running Company (5262 N. Nevada Avenue, Ste 140, Colorado Springs); packets may also be mailed for a $10 fee and will be sent no later than July 1. Parking is on the west side of the lake in designated lots north of the pickleball courts, with a bridge to cross to the race course. A free shuttle returns racers to the Palmer Lake parking lots; boarding is at Adams and 2nd Street. Pets are not allowed on the race course. Awards include Overall and Masters (40+) male and female top three, plus first-place age group winners by decade. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
