Course and logistics
All courses use double-track and single-track trails with zero pavement. The main aid station is located at the Pisgah Point Group Camping Area and serves as the start/finish. The aid station is stocked with water, electrolyte drink, assorted ultra snacks, and provides drop bag access.
The 12-Hour format: runners draw colored balls to determine the next loop; loops are marked with matching flagging tape. A black ball gives the runner either a 15-minute time out or a task administered by a task master. Completed tasks can earn override tickets to change future loop choices. Each runner’s result in the 12-Hour is the total miles recorded during their participation.
On-site tent camping is allowed with limited vehicle/camper space; trailers and roof-top tents are not permitted. Vehicles entering the park must meet Colorado State Parks entry requirements or pay the park fee. Average temperatures listed are high 57°F and low 32°F; mountain weather can be variable. Finisher items include a gender-specific race shirt and finisher’s medal, subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
