Event Overview
The Paint it Pink 5k Fun Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in Gardnerville. It is the third event in the "We Run This Town" fun run/walk series. The primary purpose is fundraising for local cancer treatment centers, with $5.00 from every registration being donated to Carson Valley Health and Carson Tahoe Health.
Course and Location
The 5k route is a fun run/walk through Gardnerville, utilizing the Martin Slough trail. The event starts and finishes at Heritage Park, specifically on the Ezell Street side at 1447 Courthouse Alley. It will be held rain or shine.
Event Details and Rules
The event includes several participation options:
- Paint it Pink 5k Fun Run/Walk 11 & up: Pre-registration fee is $25.
- Paint it Pink 5k Fun Run/Walk 10 and under: Free entry.
- VIRTUAL Paint it Pink 5k Fun Run/Walk: Cost is $20 and must be completed within two weeks of the live event. A virtual entry counts towards the series for a limited-edition tee.
- Paint it Pink Day of Registration 11 & up: Fee is $35.
All participants receive a running medal, and trophies are awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. Participants are encouraged to dress in pink. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed, non-aggressive, current on vaccinations, and positioned at the back of the starting pack. Strollers should also start at the back, with walkers in the middle of the pack.
