Paint it Pink 5k Fun Run/Walk - Gardnerville
The Paint it Pink 5k Fun Run/Walk takes place on October 17, 2026, in Gardnerville, starting and finishing at Heritage Park on the Ezell Street side (1447 Courthouse Alley). The course runs along the Martin Slough trail and the event will proceed rain or shine. This is the third event in the We Run This Town fun run/walk series.
Event formats include in-person 5K runs and walks separated by age groups and a virtual 5K option. Pre-registration fees are listed as free for runners 10 and under and $25 for runners 11 and up, with a higher day-of registration fee for the 11 and up category. The virtual 5K carries a fee and must be completed within two weeks of the live event; a virtual entry qualifies as an entry in the series for a limited edition tee.
The event is a fundraiser for Main Street Gardnerville, a 501c(3) nonprofit. In addition, $5 from every registration will be donated to Carson Valley Health and Carson Tahoe Health cancer treatment centers. All participants receive running medals and first through third place finishers receive trophies.
Pets and participant positioning rules are specified. Dogs are permitted if they are non-aggressive, current on vaccinations, and child and dog friendly; all dogs must be on leash at all times and will be positioned at the back of the starting pack. Walkers are asked to remain toward the middle of the pack and participants with strollers or dogs toward the back to reduce obstacles for runners.
