Paddy Buckley Recce - Hebogs
The Paddy Buckley Recce - Hebogs is a guided run through the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. This event focuses on a specific section of the Paddy Buckley Round, a famous long-distance route that covers 61 miles and 47 peaks. This particular session covers the leg from Nantmoor to the Beddgelert Forest (A4085), traversing the Hebog mountains.
The route spans a distance of 15 km and includes 1,580 m of total height gain. Participants run in small groups to explore the terrain, which is characterized by mountain trails and significant elevation changes. The event is designed to help runners gain intimate knowledge of the route and identify specific lines used by those attempting the full round.
Qualified guides lead the groups, with all leaders holding a Mountain Leader qualification at a minimum. These guides have completed the Paddy Buckley Round themselves and provide technical advice on the route and terrain as the group progresses. The event is open to individuals aged 18 and older. The location for the event is Beddgelert in North Wales. This run is part of a series of recce days covering all legs of the full mountain round.
