Yr Wyddfa | Snowdon24
Yr Wyddfa | Snowdon24 is a 24 hour ultra trail event centred on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in Eryri (Snowdonia), with the start and finish at the foot of the mountain near Llanberis. Yr Wyddfa reaches 1,085 m above sea level. The event day is 11 Jul 2026.
Participants aim to ascend and descend Yr Wyddfa as many times as possible within 24 hours. The event accepts solo entries and team relay entries of up to five people. The organisers list these UTMB indexed individual challenge distances:
- 50k individual challenge
- 100k individual challenge
- 100 mile individual challenge
Teams work in a relay format so each team member contributes to the total number of ascents. The event notes a current record of eight laps. It is UTMB indexed and may be used for UTMB qualification or preparation.
Event facilities include an event village with toilets, food, shopping, music and daytime commentary. There are rest areas with a silent respite zone, tent pitches and a chill out area. On-course support includes marshals, signage and Mountain Leader support. Timing and results use chip timing, tracking and online results. The official charity partner is Cancer Research Wales; fundraising for other charities is also welcome. The event is bilingual with signs, registration and commentary available in English and Welsh.
