Yr Wyddfa | Snowdon24

Yr Wyddfa | Snowdon24 is a 24 hour ultra trail running challenge based at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in Llanberis. Yr Wyddfa is the highest mountain in Eryri (Snowdonia) and in England and Wales, peaking at 1,085 m (3,560 feet). The event asks participants to ascend and descend the mountain as many times as possible within 24 hours.

Entries are available for solo runners and for teams of up to five running in a relay format. Individual challenge options include:

  • 50k UTMB indexed challenge
  • 100k UTMB indexed challenge
  • 100 mile UTMB indexed challenge

The event village provides toilets, food, shopping, music and commentary during daylight hours. Facilities include rest areas with tent pitches and a chill out zone. On course support includes marshals, route signage and Mountain Leader support. Timing is managed with chip timing, tracking and online results. Finishers receive event mementos designed to reflect the location and local history. The event is bilingual with services available in English and Welsh.

The event lists Cancer Research Wales as its official charity partner and allows fundraising for this and other charities. The public record for laps completed during the 24 hour challenge is noted as eight laps. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
