Paddy Buckley Recce - Carneddau
This event is a recce of the Paddy Buckley route from Ogwen Valley to Capel Curig across the Carneddau. The leg covers 16 km with 1,245 m of height gain and will be run in small groups. Routes and line choices for this section of the round are practiced during the day.
Guides have a minimum Mountain Leader qualification and have completed the full Paddy Buckley Round. They provide route knowledge, advice and guidance aimed at building technical ability and confidence for those preparing to attempt the full round.
The Paddy Buckley Round is described as a 61 mile route crossing 47 peaks with about 8,500 m of total ascent; this event focuses on the Ogwen Valley to Capel Curig leg of that route. The event location is Capel Curig in North Wales.
Entry opens 17 September 2025 and closes 27 March 2026. The minimum age is 18 and the stated entry fee is £65.
