Pack Dash 5K
The Pack Dash 5K is a new addition to Alvernia University's Homecoming and Family Weekend. The event takes place at Alvernia University, The Plex, and the course follows routes through the university’s Hill Campus, giving participants a running tour of the campus grounds.
Two distances are offered:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
Entry fees and registration windows are specified by the organizer. Early registration fees listed are $25 for the 5K and $15 for the 1 Mile, with late registration fees of $30 and $20 respectively. The 5K entry includes a race T-shirt for registered participants while supplies are guaranteed for early registrants; the 1 Mile includes a swag bag guarantee for early registrations. Additional shirts and swag items may be available on the day of the event on a first come, first served basis. Raffle tickets are sold in tiered amounts.
Proceeds support the Hope Fund, which assists students facing unexpected hardships including food and housing insecurity, transportation challenges, and emergency medical expenses. Proceeds also support Clare’s Cupboard, the campus pantry that provides free nonperishable food items and personal care products to students in need. The event accepts donations for the pantry, including nonperishable foods, personal hygiene items, and basic school supplies; donors receive extra raffle tickets.
