Bidwells Oxford 10K 2026
The Bidwells Oxford 10K is a long-standing road race that forms part of the Town and Gown series. Established in 1982, the event generates funds to support work related to muscular dystrophy. The race is known for being the only closed-route running event in Oxford, allowing participants to run on city roads without vehicular traffic.
The event offers two main distances:
- 10 km
- 3 km
The 10 km course is designed with a fast and flat layout, making it suitable for those attempting to set a personal best time. The route passes through the Oxford city centre and University Parks, featuring various historic landmarks, university buildings, and stretches alongside the River Cherwell. The 3 km distance is specifically designed for participants aged 9-15 and takes place within the University Parks area.
The Event Village is located at University Parks and serves as the central hub for the race. It houses facilities such as baggage storage, information tents, and food stalls. While the Event Village is the site for warm-ups, the actual start line is located on Banbury Road, a short walk away. The 10 km race is open to all participants aged 16 and over, and the course is accessible for running buggies and wheelchair users.
Participants receive a bespoke medal and branded items upon finishing. The event uses chip-timing technology, and results are available post-race via SMS and online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
