The Ox 'N' Wood Trail Event
The Ox 'N' Wood is a trail event held in Andover, starting from the Andover Athletics Club. Participants traverse wild tracks and significant climbs, following a route that connects Charlton to the Oxenwood Field Studies Centre. The course features views of the chutes, Hippenscombe, and the Fosbury Hill fort.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 10 miles: A point to point route.
- 20 miles: An out and back route.
The event operates with a rolling start, allowing runners and walkers to collect their bibs and begin upon arrival within specified windows. A seven-hour overall cutoff applies to the event. For those completing the 10 mile point to point course, a mini bus service is available to transport participants back to their vehicles at the starting location.
The route is fully signed for navigation and includes electronic chip timing. Checkpoints are positioned every 5 miles along the course to provide support. The terrain includes a variety of surfaces such as roads, lanes, gravel, fields, and woodland. All finishers receive a bespoke medal upon completion. The event is open to both runners and walkers, with an age requirement of 16 and over for the 10 mile distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
