About the race
Phoenix Running Hampshire stages a timed out and back event along The Itchen Way in Winchester, based at Garnier Road Car Park. The course is professionally measured and holds a Road Permit.
The event uses a lap format on a smooth, mostly paved route that crosses Hockley Viaduct. Participants may run as few as one 2.62 mile out and back lap or complete as many laps as they wish within a seven hour time limit. All finishers receive a bespoke finisher's medal. An aid station supplies sweet and savoury items, including the event's signature potatoes, with vegan and vegetarian options available.
Distances available include:
- 2.62 miles out and back
- Five out and backs for a Half Marathon
- Ten out and backs for a Marathon
- Eleven or more out and backs for an Ultra
The event operates flexible rock up and run start times so participants can choose when to begin on the day. Event parking is based at Garnier Road Car Park with additional parking a short walk away at East Winchester Park and Ride, postcode SO23 9NP, Area 5; parking charges apply. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under under UK Athletics rules. Virtual participation is offered and virtual and attended entrants receive a giveaway medal or memento.
