Event overview
The Outpacing Melanoma 5K is the 15th annual run held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, coinciding with National Lemonade Day. The event is a 5K run/walk staged at Corporate Woods, north of Building #40, 9401 Indian Creek Parkway, Overland Park, KS. The Outpacing Melanoma Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, organizes the event to fund melanoma research and to increase awareness of prevention, screening and early detection in the Kansas City region. Strollers and dogs on a leash are permitted. A post-race celebration will include lemonade stands and activities for children and families. Awards will be given to top finishers. For the first time in 15 years, the event will present a custom Outpacing Melanoma finisher medal to 5K participants who are wearing their race bib. Themed shirts will be provided; sizes are not guaranteed for registrations after April 11.

The 5K event prices increase after January 31, 2026 at 11:59 pm CST. Registration for the Dot-To-Dot Kid Trot ends May 3, 2026 at 7:59 am CDT. Packet pickup is at Scheels in Corbin Park Shopping Center (6503 W 135th St., Overland Park, KS), on the 2nd level near the elevators: Friday, May 1 (5:00 - 7:00 p.m.) and Saturday, May 2 (10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.).
