Event Overview

The Outlaw Half Marathon celebrates its 11th anniversary in 2026. This running event takes place in the Texas Hill Country, with all activities centered around the historic town of Luckenbach. The start line for all distances is located in front of the old Post Office in downtown Luckenbach.

The event offers three distinct road running distances:

  • Half Marathon (USATF certified)
  • 10K
  • 5K

Course Details

All routes are designed as out and back courses utilizing the backroads of Fredericksburg, Texas. The timing of the event in early April coincides with the blooming of local wildflowers. Participants may also observe regional scenery, including longhorns.

The terrain varies by distance. The 5K and 10K courses are relatively flat. In contrast, the Half Marathon course features the rolling hills characteristic of the Texas Hill Country. The start area provides space for spectators to observe the beginning of the races.
