OUTLAST Houston
OUTLAST Houston is a 6-hour trail endurance event held on January 24, 2026, at Brazos River Park, 18427 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77479. The event uses a repeating loop format in which runners complete a 5K lap every hour. Participants who fail to finish a lap within the hour are removed from the event. Completing all six laps earns full finisher status.
Format and course
Runners complete up to six hourly 5K laps on trail terrain. Courses include natural surfaces such as dirt, rocks, roots, and elevation; some sections may include pavement or gravel. Each 5K is timed individually, and a combined time is used for local results and national ranking for those who finish all six laps. Aid is provided at the basecamp/loop start with water, basic hydration, and snacks. The event is cupless, so participants should bring a personal bottle or hydration system. Tents and personal aid setups are allowed at the site.
Awards and entry
Participants who complete four laps receive a bronze leather patch, five laps a silver leather patch, and six laps a wooden OUTLAST medal. All entrants receive an OUTLAST T-shirt and sticker. Top male and female finishers by combined time win local 1st Place awards and are ranked on a national leaderboard; the fastest across all OUTLAST events receives a $1,000 national prize. City champions may earn spots in the Outlast Championship, which carries additional prize purses. Entry fees vary by registration period.
