OUTLAST COLUMBUS

OUTLAST is a six-hour trail endurance event held in Lewis Center, OH on May 22, 2027. Participants run a 5K every hour; each lap must be completed within the hour to remain in the event. Missing a lap results in elimination. Completing all six laps is described as outlasting.

The course is trail based with natural terrain, elevation changes, and sometimes sections of pavement or gravel. Runners have time between laps to recover, refuel, and refocus. The basecamp/loop start will have water, basic hydration, and snacks. The event is cupless, so participants bring their own bottle or hydration system. Walking is permitted as long as each 5K is finished within the hour. Participants may set up a personal tent or aid station.

Recognition and competition are tracked by laps and time. Awards include a “Grit Earned” patch for four laps, a “Survivor” patch for five laps, and a premium OUTLAST medal for six laps; all participants receive an OUTLAST Tee. Each 5K is timed individually and a combined time for six laps determines local division winners. Finishers are ranked on a national leaderboard and the fastest across all OUTLAST 6-hour events earns a national title and a $1,000 prize. Top city champions earn spots in the Outlast Championship on December 4, 2027, where additional cash prizes are awarded. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
