OUTLAST Albuquerque - 6 Hour Trail Challenge

OUTLAST is a timed, six-hour trail challenge held on September 19, 2026, at 5601 University Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. Runners complete a 5K every hour, on the hour. Each lap must be finished within the hour to continue; if a runner finishes early, they rest until the next round. If a runner misses a lap, they are removed from the event. Completing all six rounds results in an OUTLAST finish.

Courses are trail-based with natural terrain, elevation, and variable conditions; some sections may include pavement or gravel. There is time between rounds for recovery and refueling. Aid is available at the basecamp or loop start with water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event, so participants use their own bottle or hydration system.

Recognition and awards are tiered by laps completed: four laps earn a “Grit Earned” patch, five laps earn a “Survivor” patch, and six laps earn a premium OUTLAST medal. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST tee. Top male and female finishers at each event are determined by the fastest combined 5K times and receive the 1st Place OUTLAST award. Finishers are ranked on a national leaderboard; the fastest runner across all OUTLAST 6-hour events earns the National Champion title and a $1,000 prize.

Registration opens May 24, 2026 and closes June 2, 2026. The listed registration fee is $70.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
