Our Fallen Hero 5K Run/Walk in Memory of PFC Aaron Toppen
This event is a 5K run/walk held in Willowview Park and through the streets of Mokena, Illinois, on a USATF certified course that includes Townline Road (also named PFC Memorial Drive). The course is an out, loop and back route with a start and finish on 115th Street near the northwest entrance of the Willowview Park parking lot.

Pre-registered participants receive a custom-designed wicking T-shirt (women red, men blue, kids white), a goodie bag, and post-race refreshments. The event features a pre-race workout with SPENGA, a live DJ, and an awards presentation. Awards include overall male and female winners, first-place finishers in age categories, and military challenge coins for the top three men and women. All participants must complete the course within 60 minutes.
Timing uses a disposable chip attached to the back of the race bib; bibs must be worn on the front of the body for accurate timing. Organizers note that smart watches and phones can interfere with chip timing and that times from those devices are not accepted for disputes.
Packet pickup is at The Oaks Fitness & Recreation in Mokena on the two days before the event; shirts at packet pickup are first come, first serve. Free parking is available at nearby school lots; no parking is allowed on the race route.
