Our Fallen Hero 5K Run/Walk
This event is a community 5K held in Mokena, Illinois, in memory of a fallen service member. The course is USATF certified and runs through Mokena neighborhoods, including Townline Road also named PFC Memorial Drive. The main distance offered is 5K (3.1 miles).
Pre-registered participants receive a custom-designed wicking T-shirt (women red, men blue, kids white), a sponsor goodie bag, and post-race refreshments provided by local vendors. Event day features a Spenga warm-up and a live DJ, followed by an awards ceremony and raffles; one free raffle entry is available for registrants between July 1 and August 15, with a tabletop solo stove listed as a raffle prize.
Chip timing is used with a disposable timing tag affixed to the race bib; runners must wear bibs on the front of their clothing for accurate timing. All participants must complete the course within 60 minutes. Results are posted within 24 hours after the race.
Packet pick-up is offered at The Oaks Fitness & Recreation in Mokena on the two days before the race, with on-site registration available during packet pick-up; shirts at packet pick-up are first come first serve. Free parking is available at nearby school lots east of Willowview Park; no parking is allowed on the race route.
