Our Fallen Hero 5K Run/Walk
The Our Fallen Hero 5K Run/Walk is a community 5-kilometre event held at Willowview Park in Mokena, Illinois. The course is USATF certified and follows an out, loop and back route through local neighbourhood streets, including Townline Road, also named PFC Memorial Drive. Participants must complete the course within 60 minutes.
Pre-registered participants receive a custom-designed wicking T-shirt and a goodie bag. Race-day activities include a group warm-up led by SPENGA, a live DJ, post-race refreshments from local vendors, and an awards ceremony for overall male and female winners and age-group placements. Raffle tickets are sold on-site and a raffle entry is offered for certain early registrations; prize details are provided by the organizer.
Timing uses a disposable chip mounted on the back of the race bib; bibs must be worn on the front of the body for accurate results. Results are posted online after the event. A virtual runner option allows participants to complete their own 3.1-mile course and receive a shirt.
Packet pick-up is available at The Oaks Fitness & Recreation in Mokena in the days before the event. Free parking is provided at nearby school lots east of Willowview Park. For safety, bikes and skates are not allowed on the course; pets and jogging strollers are permitted with guidance to position behind runners at the start.
