35th Annual Endurance Run in Little Rock
The Ouachita Trail 50 is an endurance event held in Arkansas, organized by the Arkansas Ultra Running Association. This nonprofit event supports Pinnacle Mountain State Park through its proceeds. The course starts and finishes at Maumelle Park in Little Rock, utilizing Pavilion #8 as the central hub for check-in and activities.
Participants can choose from two primary distances:
- 50 Mile
- 50 km
The route consists of approximately two miles of pavement at the beginning and end, connecting Maumelle Park with the eastern terminus of the Ouachita Trail. Between these points, participants navigate a climb over and around Pinnacle Mountain before continuing on an out-and-back section along the north shore of Lake Maumelle. The majority of the course follows the Ouachita National Recreation Trail, which is characterized by rocky, single-track paths marked with blue blazes.
For the 50 Mile distance, there are eleven staffed aid stations, while the 50 km event provides seven. These stations offer a variety of snacks and fluids, though participants are advised to carry their own water bottles. Drop bag services are available for specific locations including Northshore and Hwy 10. The event has strict cut-off times, including a 13-hour limit for the 50-mile race and a general course closure at 7:00 PM for both distances. All finishers receive an award, and a catered meal is provided at the finish line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
