ÖTILLÖ Colorado USA : Fort Collins swimrun
ÖTILLÖ Colorado USA is a swimrun event held in Fort Collins that combines open-water swims in Horsetooth Reservoir with trail running in Lory State Park. The venue area includes the Soldier Canyon Event Facility and the race uses single-track trails and reservoir coves at over 5,000 feet altitude.
The event features mandatory race gear provided by organizers and items athletes must bring. Organizer-provided items include color-coded swim caps, matching number bibs, timing chips, and Restube devices for solo racers. Athletes must wear shoes for the whole race and a wetsuit; a whistle, a compression bandage, and a team tether are also required. Limited rental wetsuits are available as an add-on.
Logistics include mandatory day-before packet pickup in Fort Collins, limited parking at the race venue, and covered park entry for early athlete and volunteer vehicles. There is a bag-drop area near the start/finish with an honor system for claiming items. The awards ceremony takes place near the finish line and recognizes top teams and solo finishers in each distance category. In severe weather the event may be delayed in short increments while organizers assess safety. Water stops provide regular water and an electrolyte option and require proper disposal of waste; littering on course can lead to disqualification.
