ÖTILLÖ Colorado USA
ÖTILLÖ Colorado USA is a swimrun event held around Horsetooth Reservoir and Lory State Park in Fort Collins at an elevation above 5,000 feet. The course alternates open-water swims in the reservoir with single-track and park trails, and includes notable elevation gain on longer distances. The race uses the Soldier Canyon Event Facility in Bellvue, Colorado as the start and finish area, and packet pickup is mandatory the day before at Runner’s Roost in Fort Collins.
Three race distances are offered:
- Colorado Experience: 6 mi total; 1.5 mi swim; 4.5 mi run; 292 ft elevation
- Colorado Sprint: 11 mi total; 3 mi swim; 8 mi run; 944 ft elevation
- Colorado World Series: 23.5 mi total; 5 mi swim; 18.5 mi run; 2091 ft elevation
Race-provided mandatory items include a color-coded swim cap, bib numbers, timing chip, and solo Restube flotation devices for solo racers. Athletes must provide shoes, a wetsuit, a whistle, a compression bandage, and a tether. Water stops supply plain water and Precision Hydration electrolyte water and may provide gels. Parking at the event site is limited and park entry fees apply for vehicles. The event holds an awards ceremony near the finish and enforces a single race cut-off for all distances. Volunteers support race operations and receive a shirt and meal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
