The event takes place on October 4, 2026 in Fort Collins, Colorado, at over 5,000 feet elevation. The course links open water in Horsetooth Reservoir with single-track trail running in Lory State Park and uses the Soldier Canyon Event Facility as the race site.
There are three race distances:
- Colorado Experience : Total 6 mi, Swim 1.5 mi, Run 4.5 mi.
- Colorado Sprint : Total 11 mi, Swim 3 mi, Run 8 mi.
- Colorado World Series : Total 23.5 mi, Swim 5 mi, Run 18.5 mi.
Mandatory, race-provided items include a color-coded swim cap, number bib, timing chip, and a Restube for solo racers. Athlete-provided mandatory items include shoes, a wetsuit, a whistle, a compression bandage, and a tether. Packet pickup is mandatory the day before at Runner’s Roost in Fort Collins on Saturday, Oct 3, 2026, 13:00–16:00.
Logistics: the start/finish and race course are at Soldier Canyon Event Facility, 708 Lodgepole Dr., Bellvue, CO 80512. Lory State Park opens at 5:00 AM; park entry is covered for athletes and volunteer vehicles until 7:00 AM. Spectators and athletes arriving after 7:00 AM pay a per-vehicle fee. Parking is limited.
Other details: a single race cut-off at 15:00 applies. Awards go to top three teams and top three solo finishers by category. Water stops provide regular water, electrolyte-infused water, and gels; improper disposal of trash can result in disqualification. A sauna and cold plunge are available near the finish area.
