ÖTILLÖ Austin USA
The event takes place on November 8, 2026 at Pace Bend Park near Spicewood, Texas. The race uses single track forest trails, shoreline rock formations, limestone cliffs and sections that include cliff jumps into the Colorado River, with extensive shoreline along Lake Travis.
There are three race distances:
- Austin Experience: 6.1 mi total, 1.0 mi swim, 5.1 mi run
- Austin Sprint: 10.25 mi total, 1.79 mi swim, 8.4 mi run
- Austin World Series: 16 mi total, 2.66 mi swim, 13.37 mi run
Race headquarters, packet pickup, start and finish are at Camp Texlake, 5700 Pace Bend Rd N, Spicewood TX. Packet pickup is mandatory the day before at Camp Texlake; one team member may collect an entire team packet with permission and valid ID. A race morning packet pickup add-on is available for those who need it.
Mandatory gear includes race-provided swim caps and number bibs, a wetsuit for every athlete, a whistle, a compression bandage, and a tether for teams. Solo racers receive a Restube or may use an equivalent auto inflating personal flotation device. Mandatory gear may be checked at any time.
Water stops provide plain water and electrolyte infused water plus gels. Littering on course or failing to use provided trash bags can lead to disqualification. Volunteers must register and receive a shirt and a meal after their shift. Awards are given to top three teams and top three solo finishers in each distance.
