ÖTILLÖ Race: Austin USA
ÖTILLÖ Race: Austin USA takes place at Pace Bend Park and uses Camp Texlake as race headquarters. The park features single-track forest trails, shoreline rock formations, high limestone cliffs, and rocky coves along Lake Travis. The event includes cliff jumps into the Colorado River and access to interior trails within a wildlife preserve.
There are three race distances:
- Austin Experience: Total 9,895 m; swim 1,765 m; run 8,130 m.
- Austin Sprint: Total 15,445 m; swim 3,215 m; run 12,230 m.
- Austin World Series: Total 25,095 m; swim 4,820 m; run 20,275 m.
Packet pickup is mandatory the day before at Camp Texlake dining hall. Camp Texlake offers onsite lodging by bed at a stated reservation fee; onsite lodging includes complimentary park entry, parking, breakfast, communal showers, and common areas. Registrants are responsible for park entry fees if not staying onsite; a vehicle entry fee applies.
Mandatory event equipment is specified and may be checked during the race. Provided items include color coded swim caps, number bibs, timing chips, and a Restube for solo racers. Athlete-provided mandatory items include shoes to be worn throughout the race, a wetsuit, a whistle, a compression bandage, and a team tether. Water stops provide plain water plus electrolyte-infused water and gels; improper disposal of trash may lead to disqualification.
Awards are given to top finishers in team and solo categories across the three distances. Race policies cover registration changes, limited transfers, and no general refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
