ÖTILLÖ Austin
ÖTILLÖ Austin is a swimrun event held at Pace Bend Park with race headquarters and the start/finish area at Camp Texlake in Spicewood, Texas. The course uses shoreline and park trails around Lake Travis and includes single track forest trails, shoreline rock formations, and cliff jumps into the Colorado River.
Three race distances are offered:
- Austin Experience: 9 895 m total, swim 1 765 m, run 8 130 m.
- Austin Sprint: 15 445 m total, swim 3 215 m, run 12 230 m.
- Austin World Series: 25 095 m total, swim 4 820 m, run 20 275 m.
Race facilities and logistics include on site lodging at Camp Texlake with shared beds available for a fee that includes park entry, parking, and breakfast, indoor restrooms at the start finish area, communal showers, and a dining hall for packet pickup and post race food. The nearest major airport is Austin Bergstrom International Airport, about a one hour drive to the venue.
Mandatory and provided race gear is listed for all participants and may be checked during the event. Mandatory items include swim caps, bibs, timing chips, wetsuits, shoes, whistles, a compression bandage, and a tether per team. Packet pickup is required the day before at Camp Texlake. Water stops provide at least two coolers with regular water and an electrolyte option and use of course trash bags is enforced. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
