ÖTILLÖ Race: Austin USA
ÖTILLÖ Austin is a swimrun event held at Pace Bend Park on Lake Travis near Spicewood, Texas. The course uses single track forest trails, shoreline rock formations, high limestone cliffs, and includes cliff jumps into the Colorado River. The race weekend base is Camp Texlake, which hosts packet pickup, the start and finish area, dining facilities, communal showers, and onsite lodging.
Three distances are offered:
- Austin Experience - 9,895 m total; swim 1,765 m; run 8,130 m.
- Austin Sprint - 15,445 m total; swim 3,215 m; run 12,230 m.
- Austin World Series - 25,095 m total; swim 4,820 m; run 20,275 m.
Mandatory race equipment is specified. Organiser-provided items include a colour coded swim cap, matching bib numbers, timing chip, and a Restube for solo racers. Athlete-provided mandatory items include shoes to be worn the entire race, a wetsuit, a whistle, a compression bandage, and one tether per team. Rental wetsuits are available as an add-on.
Packet pickup takes place at Camp Texlake the day before the race. Lodging options include offsite accommodation or reservable beds at Camp Texlake; onsite reservations include breakfast, park entry, and parking. Water stops provide regular water and electrolyte infused water plus gels. Volunteers are registered and receive a shirt and a meal.
