ÖTILLÖ Race: Austin USA
ÖTILLÖ Austin is a swimrun event held in Pace Bend Park near Austin, USA. The course combines open-water swims and trail runs around Lake Travis and the park's limestone cliffs and rocky coves. Race headquarters and the start/finish area are at Camp Texlake, Spicewood, TX.
Three race distances are offered:
- Austin Experience: 9,895 m total, 1,765 m swim, 8,130 m run
- Austin Sprint: 15,445 m total, 3,215 m swim, 12,230 m run, 131 m elevation
- Austin World Series: 25,095 m total, 4,820 m swim, 20,275 m run, 255 m elevation
Packets must be collected the day before the race at Camp Texlake. Onsite lodging is available at Camp Texlake; a per-bed reservation includes bed for two nights, park entry, parking, breakfast, shared showers, and a common area. Park entry fees and parking rules apply.
Mandatory race gear is provided and checked: color-coded swim cap, number bib, and timing chip; solo racers receive an auto-inflating safety device. Athletes must wear shoes throughout, use a wetsuit, carry a whistle and a compression bandage; teams must have a tether. Teams must stay together on the marked course. Water stops provide water and electrolyte drinks; racers must use provided trash bags or face disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
