ÖTILLÖ Race: Austin USA
The event takes place at Pace Bend Park and is based at Camp Texlake in Spicewood, Texas. The terrain includes single-track forest trails, shoreline rock formations, high limestone cliffs and rocky coves along Lake Travis, with opportunities for cliff jumps into the Colorado River. Camp Texlake serves as race HQ with packet pickup, dining hall facilities, and onsite lodging options.
There are three race distances:
- Austin Experience - Total 9 895m; swim 1 765m; run 8 130m
- Austin Sprint - Total 15 445m; swim 3 215m; run 12 230m
- Austin World Series - Total 25 095m; swim 4 820m; run 20 275m
Race-provided mandatory items include color-coded swim caps, number bibs, timing chips and a Restube for solo racers. Athletes must provide shoes, a wetsuit, a whistle, a compression bandage and a tether. Mandatory gear may be checked during the event.
Packet pickup is mandatory the day before at Camp Texlake; a race-morning pickup add-on is available in some cases. Onsite lodging at Camp Texlake is offered per bed and includes park entry, parking and breakfast. Offsite lodging information is not provided.
Water stops supply plain water and electrolyte-infused water plus gels. Awards are given to top three teams and top three solo finishers in each distance and category.
