3rd Annual Downers Grove Ostomy 5k
The event is a 5K run, walk, and roll held in Downers Grove, Illinois, at the Byram Healthcare location on Woodcreek Drive. It is presented in observance of Ostomy Awareness Day and identifies the United Ostomy Associations of America as the beneficiary organization; proceeds support that 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Distances offered include:
- 5K run, walk, or roll
- 50-yard dash for ages 5 and under
- 50-yard dash for ages 6 through 10
The 5K uses a looped course that goes along Birchwood Place, Lacey Road, and Woodcreek Drive, with the finish on Woodcreek Drive. Professional timing services are provided. Packet pick-up is available on race day. There is ample free parking at the Byram Healthcare office.
Entry fees listed are $35.00 for the 5K and $20.00 for each kids run. Fees include a unisex T-shirt, bib, and a participant swag bag. Medals are planned for the top three overall 5K finishers by gender and top three in the Ostomate category; awards are also planned for top finishers in each kids run. Door prizes and complimentary postrace refreshments will be available. Fundraising options include refunds for individuals who raise $150 or more and additional fundraising incentive levels.
