3rd Annual Downers Grove, IL Ostomy 5k
The event takes place on October 3, 2026 at Byram Healthcare, 3010 Woodcreek Drive, Suite A, Downers Grove, IL 60515, USA. It is a Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K run and walk held in observance of Ostomy Awareness Day. Professional run timing will be provided by Race Time Race Management. Participants may bring pets that can be safely outdoors; water and a water bowl will be available.
Distances offered:
- 5K run/walk/roll
- 50 yard dash for ages 5 and under
- 50 yard dash for ages 6 through 10
The 5K follows a looped course that starts on Birchwood Place, proceeds to Lacey Road, continues to Woodcreek Drive, returns to Birchwood Place and finishes on Woodcreek Drive. Participants may run, walk or roll any portion of the course, and only those who complete the entire 5K are eligible for awards. A course map will be posted at the registration desk.
Registration fees listed by the organizer are $35.00 for the 5K and $20.00 for each kids run; fees include a unisex adult or youth T-shirt, a bib, and a participant swag bag. Packet pick-up will occur on race day. There is ample free parking at the Byram Healthcare office.
Medals are planned for top three overall 5K finishers male and female and top three in the Ostomate category. Awards will also be given for the top three finishers of each kids run, and door prizes will be awarded after the awards ceremony. Proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization. Fundraising incentives include a registration refund for individuals who raise $150 or more and additional fundraising recognition levels at $250 and $450.
